Current program participant in WiSHES Afterschool Tutoring, WiSHES Summer Enrichment Connections Programs (WSECP), and Year Round Staff Member. In all work environments there are tasks that no one wants to be assigned, however, it is is imperative that they be done. The charge that has been put before this young lady certainly falls into this category. Cataloging books for a library is a thankless, boring, and tedious task, however, to provide our program participants with a functional library is imperative and she steadfastly works to complete the job. I truly appreciate her diligence and pleasant attitude!
Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend. Proverbs 27:17 (KJV)
Q: How would you describe your employment experience at WiSHES?
A: I really enjoyed working at WiSHES during the Summer Enrichment Program and I returned to during the Year Round YouthWorks program. I usually work in the office and help prepare the library for the students in the program. I work to catalog the many books that have been donated for the students. Working at WiSHES has been a good learning experience and has helped me improve my typing skills. Being employed at WiSHES has also helped me in other areas and that is why I want to return and work in the Summer of 2017 to help Ms. Osley with anything she needs. ~ Current Youth Staff – Tenth Grader Testimonial 2016-17
